New M.O.T Regulations

Its official, From January 2012 new regulations for M.O.T test stations require SRS (Airbag Lights), DPF and a few more management lights to be working in the correct fashion. 
If you SRS light comes on and stays on, this will be an M.O.T fail. If the SRS light does not come on at all then that is also a fail. 
Your airbag SRS light should come on and go of showing the car is doing the correct diagnostic tests ensuring the system is fully working.


The SRS airbag module is often referred to as the airbag computer , 591, derm unit, airbag sensor as well as the diagnostic unit. In most situations once the airbags have deployed you will need to either replace it with a new or a recycled airbag module

Once you have replaced the necessary SRS air bag components that activated during the accident, you can install the  airbag module to clear the airbag light and the SRS system is reactivated.
